Do you carry a sketchbook?

Living in Japan without a car, I spend about two hours every weekday on the train. Most days I leave early enough to get a seat, but even if I'm standing (against the door between cars), I have enough space to get out a tiny book and my pencil. I'm not in Tokyo or Yokohama, where this would be impossible during rush hour.

Last year, I had a little daily calendar that measured about 7cm X 12 cm and 3 cm thick (5" tall, 3" wide and about 1" thick). My goal was to make a quick sketch every day. Well, that didn't happen, but mostly because I go so involved in detail that some of the sketches took me days to complete. Some days were just whimsical, and others were very intricate.
